Currently, I am a stay at home mom of a preschooler who keeps me very busy but I realized I needed a creative outlet; that is when I decided to take a class in PMC. My goal for the class was to create a charm with my son's name on it that I could proudly wear. Soon, I discovered that other moms also wanted to wear a charm with their child's name on it and I began selling my charms at local craft fairs.
One day a woman approached me at one of my craft fairs and asked if I could make a fingerprint charm of her 20 year old son. I said, "why not?" so we arranged for me to take her son's print. After I made that first charm, I decided to test my process out on other children. Months later I had perfected my method to include the ability to mail kits to customers who were not local to me. I've since mailed kits all over the U.S. and to Canada and Australia!
In May 2011, I became a level 1 Certified Artisan through PMC Connection; this course was taught by Lora Hart. I am very proud of this accomplishment. You can see the pieces I created during this process here.
This is the story of how "Designs by Janessa" was born!
